Baltimore City

A social and economic hub of innovation, creativity, and activism

Baltimore thrives because citizens claim its great potential, opportunity, glory, and beauty. Quirkiness, too. And yes, its grit. Fearless Heroes emerge from diverse neighborhoods to disrupt urban ills because they love this city we call home. It helps that Baltimore knows its history: The doers walk in the footprints of fearless giants like Thurgood Marshall, Lillie Carroll Jackson, and Elijah Cummings.

To Be a
Fearless Hero

We all know the superhero mantra: With great power comes great responsibility. But what if your superpower is a mere flicker, not yet a flame? What if you have passion, but your voice is still a whisper not a roar?

Our first Baltimore cohort of Fearless Heroes dropped jewels recently, during exclusive video interviews revealing how they became fearless. You may see these social impact achievers on the news and think they were born endowed with special talents and limitless courage. And you would be partly correct: They are brilliant in their own unique ways. But here is their secret: Just like all of us, they first had to learn to believe in themselves. Whether they were tested in fires of adversity or steeped in education, they unlocked their potential through self-care and fearless love.

Purpose Not Pedestals

Fearless Sports backs the doers. We believe that doers and achievers should be as revered as celebrities. They deserve as much as any luminary to be comfortable. When we look for achievers to support, we do not measure popularity or privilege. In fact, several are little known beyond their fields of work. Impact and results inspire us.

We are inspired by missions of purpose, especially those making a way where there may seem to be no way. Social impact can rarely be achieved alone, but Fearless Heroes learn to galvanize others into movements. Many mentor the next generation. While naysayers insist that urban ills are insurmountable, Fearless Heroes prove them wrong every day. Hope and inspiration go hand in hand. Initiative and persistence are common traits: They see opportunity in challenge and spring into action. (They are not waiting for the cavalry or the person wearing a cape to show up.) Some superheroes wear hoodies. It is a calling as much as it is a career.
